CHILDREN'S FIREARM SAFETY
Keep you children safe, at home and when they are out.  38% of  American households own at least one firearm.  Sadly, many do not keep them properly secured.  You never know when your child will find themselves in a situation where a gun is present.  Will they know what to do to stay safe?  Though many children say they would leave the vicinity, we know from statistics that is not always true.  Unfortunately, sometimes curiosity overrides their better judgment.

Keep your child safe with this Firearm Safety Class.  In this class we teach them to recognize a firearm when they see one, not to touch it, to leave the area immediately, tell an adult and to only handle firearms with their parent's permission.  In case a child's curiosity takes over,  (and with the parents' permission) we teach the child how to properly handle a firearm while exercising good gun safety.  We teach them that it is very easy to accidentally shoot someone, and that unlike TV and video games, guns, even pellet guns and airsoft guns can have very real and permanent consequences.  We teach the rules for firearm safety, show the child how to load, fire and unload a firearm, and teach them how to hold and fire a gun correctly.  We use targets that show them the damage that a firearm can cause.  By providing children with knowledge and experience with firearms, we can help reduce the number of tragic incidents involving children handling firearms unsupervised.

Class size is very limited and only one student will be handling a firearm or shooting at a time, under direct supervision of an NRA and Department of Justice Certified Firearms Instructor/NRA Range Safety Officer.  Teaching is commensurate with the age, maturity and attention level of the children in class.  Shooting is dependent on same.  Students are welcome to attend just the classroom lecture portion of class or the practical shooting portion as well.  All shooting will be performed from a seated position at a table for the child's safety and stability of the firearm and will begin with a long gun, progressing to handguns as learning and muzzle control permits.  Parent attendence welcome.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this class.
